Quality Engineer
Blutic is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in a software quality role. The candidate should have foundational understanding of software testing concepts, test processes, and quality metrics and hands-on experience with automation scripting in Python (or Java).
The candidate will work closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to design tests, automate scenarios, and execute testing cycles. This is a hybrid work model. The candidates should be residing in Bangalore and be willing to work from the office three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Design: Collaborate with the team to understand user stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and contribute to establishing quality gates (entry/exit criteria).
Test Case Development: Author detailed, reusable functional test cases for both new features and regression suites, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
Test Automation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and BDD frameworks like Cucumber, with Python as your primary scripting language.
End-to-End Testing: Perform and automate cross-functional E2E testing to validate entire user workflows and system integrations.
API & DB Testing: Conduct thorough validation of back-end services through API testing (e.g., using REST-assured, Postman) and database testing using SQL queries.
Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and help triage defects using JIRA, facilitating clear communication with developers for resolution.
Metrics & Reporting: Assist in tracking key quality metrics such as test coverage, defect slippage, and test execution status to provide visibility into product quality.
Agile Participation: Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
CI/CD Integration: Work with the DevOps team to integrate automated tests into the Jenkins CI/CD pipeline and manage code in GitHub.
Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate test progress, results, and risks to team members and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in a software quality role.
Foundational understanding of software testing concepts, test processes, and quality metrics.
Hands-on experience with automation scripting in Python (or Java).
Practical experience with Selenium for web automation and a BDD framework (e.g., Cucumber).
Good to have experience in designing tests for E2E, API, and Database validation.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology and working within Agile teams.
Experience with core software development tools: GitHub (version control), JIRA (defect tracking), and Jenkins (CI/CD). Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to align with stakeholders.
