Data Engineering Project Manager

Blutic is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Project Manager with 7+ years of data engineering expertise and proven ability to lead and manage complex data projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills in SQL, Python, and automation with project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership capabilities. Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions) is essential.

This is an onsite position for 6 months with a possibility of extension. The selected candidate will work 5 days a week at the client office in Plano, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

  • Oversee the design, development, and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, SQL, and Python.

  • Coordinate project plans, milestones, and resources across cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.

  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across platforms.

  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and troubleshoot performance issues.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering best practices in development, testing, and automation.

  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication with senior leadership.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering with strong exposure to project management.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and automation for data transformation and workflow optimization.

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure cloud services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Functions).

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and ETL/ELT best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects.

  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
